This time of the year, I get to play Santa delivering these Leather Craftsmen albums to my clients. Still can't afford a sleigh so I can only go local :) When I walk into their homes, it gives me great joy to see photographs I took hanging on the walls... I've been blessed with truly amazing clients and most of them I'm now lucky to call friends.
I'm off for some family time but for any wedding emergencies, call me! :) Warmest holiday wishes to all!
We just had our PUG's holiday party at Life on Wilshire and it was a lot of fun. I say it all the time, but I truly enjoy meeting other photographers, talking shop & chatting about life.
Maita of Simply Marvelous Weddings asked me to photograph her daughters. These girls are really cute! They seem so different yet so alike. I was telling her how my sister & I pulled each other's hair for as long as I can remember and yet will always be each other's "best-est" friend.
It was a pleasure meeting your family Maita! Thanks again for the bag of goodies. Sugar actually is my other best friend :)
My mom has a Christmas list with over 300 names and handpicks these presents every year. Guess who had to learn gift wrapping at age 2? ;) At one point, I almost believed that we were Santa's Asian headquarters.
I just love the holidays and everything Christmas-y. Last night, I went to get my tree - and when I first saw it, I knew it was the one... Someone's liking gold this year, Thanks mom for decking out my wreath. She refused to call it decor when it was just a round, green thing.
The girls love this little fella. He's had a girlfriend since before he turned 2... Was so excited to spend last weekend with my nephews. Too bad because of the snow & non-stop rain, it was literally a 5 minute photo shoot!
I am solar powered - thus, not a big fan of short days this time of the year. One thing I love about it though is we get great afternoon light early enough to photograph the little ones at their best.
These two little girls are so adorable! Julianne was a pro -Here's little Avery who opted to be photographed in her swimwear :) Knock knock... I really like this series... I call it "the smile an apple sauce brings" the girls with mom & dad
Today I went to the Leather Craftsmen Pizza Party at Robert Evans Studio. It's always great to meet new photographers and reconnect with ones that have constantly inspired my work.
I'm up here for work this weekend. Beautiful city! It was snowing all day & feels like Christmas already!!!The sky finally cleared up... thanks to my sis-in-law, Gina, for this shot.
One more thing I love about shooting weddings is I get to go home feeling like I just saw a really nice movie (a love story, of course!). Emily & Guillermo had their wedding festivities at the newly renovated Hollywood landmark, Sunset Tower Hotel. It was such a beautiful evening - beautiful couple, surrounded by their dearest family & friends, fantastic views of the city, and a full moon.... what more could you ask for?!
Here's one of my favorite shots from the evening. Will be posting more images later...
Aside from weddings & little ones, I really enjoy photographing athletes. The power on such images is another thing I draw inspiration from.... I was so excited to find this postcard in the mail today. It was an image I shot a few years ago.
It's that time of the year to WOW your family & friends on how cute your little one has grown.... Show off those adorable smiles from your recent portrait session through our fine art holiday cards.
A few more fun family, kids & dog portrait sessions are available in November. Call to schedule for one. Framed wall photos are always great presents too!
Watched a Joseph Domingo fashion show last night and check out what I grabbed from my iPhone. The image looked good in color but love the "old hollywood glam" feel on this one.
On my trip to the bay area, I took a day off photo duty to see my cousins. Well not really because I couldn't help it. Maxine & Benedict have grown so much since I last saw them.
So poised and responsible, Maxine takes her role as a big sister seriously. Tap, ballet, piano and violin, now photography is going to be added to the list. Someone must have shown her some magic tricks in Photoshop... oops :D
Benedict is just the sweetest, so affectionate! He knew how to work the camera and definitely that swing set too. He is a special boy and you'll truly feel special around him. Smiles like this are just so precious. Look mom, no hands! ... and a little bit of flair :)
I've always loved San Francisco. I was excited to get out of LA for a bit to photograph Anat & John's wedding. We never met in person until a few days before the wedding and could not have expected a sweeter couple!
Another knockout bride for me... Anat was absolutely beaming! So relaxed and calm, she was more concerned on how everyone else was doing. John looked pretty sharp too. We've arranged for them to see each other before the ceremony and I must say, both their smiles when they first saw each other - truly priceless!
The city lights served as a backdrop as they said their I dos at The Starlight Room at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel. The wedding was exactly how they envisioned it to be and MORE. From the pre-wedding brunch, to the tea party, to the wedding, I felt so much a part of this family. A special thanks goes out to my super friend Maureen Ford!
Anat & John love San Fran. The cable car, the golden gate bridge, can't get more San Francisco than this. Here are a few favorites, and make sure to check out the slideshow!
Day after shoots are FUN! It's a stress free day when we play and get creative with the bride & groom. We actually shot this after their honeymoon so they were both nicely tanned. Paola & Jorge have made it to my list of favorite people. Their genuine spirits just make you want to be around them. Not to mention how awesome they are in front of the camera!
A few of my favorite things... late afternoon light, flair, brick walls, P&J
flair, YUM! Yes, I am addicted to flair. Can you blame me?!
