Sundance at Park City

DESTINATION: PARK CITY, UTAH

I was in Park City for the Sundance Film Festival and it was absolutely amazing! This quaint town is not only home to the festival but has lots to offer... vast ski slopes, snowmobile trails, tubing, sleigh rides, and many more, it's a winter wonderland. The beauty was unending and the crisp mountain air, priceless. It was a birthplace of fresh ideas and new inspirations - got me all geared up for a great 2007!

in and around main street...

no i didn't take the stairs to get here...

here i am, halfway up the mountains

ON TOP OF THE WORLD! not quite... but sure was spectacular!

Lontok vs. Ramirez :)

I had a blast taking Paola & Jorge's engagement portraits. It was a gorgeous day in Malibu to spend with my gorgeous couple. I was so thrilled to find out that they called me within a few hours after they got engaged! 07-07-07, can't wait to shoot their wedding!!!

Hard to choose but here are some faves...
they were naturals, made my job too easy!

Nicco & Lil Rocco

I photographed these boys just a few days before Rocco turned 2. He definitely got me on my feet - lots of running, rolling and and dancing! A single beat and he'll be rockin' away. Nicco, meanwhile, awed us with his drawings. Very talented and a tad shyer than lil bro, you can tell he's an artist in the making. They both have the most adroable smiles and it was an early New Year's treat for me to photograph them.

Here are a few favorites...

Caren & Brian

Caren & Brian -- very cool couple with a ton of great energy. I especially love these portraits we took of them. It was an amazing spring-like December day in a setting that almost didn't feel like So. California. Thanks to Michael Segal!

They had such a wonderful wedding and I was so glad to be documenting it. At some point though, it became a struggle for me to hold back those tears... :)

Caren & Brian were both so excited to get married.
Runaway bride?!
Caren was very playful & just having a lot of fun.
Brian adoring his beautiful bride...
and yes, there was some running...

Storybooks?

As a photographer, our job is to tell a story through the images we create. In our albums, we turn images from your session into pages of your very own storybook. I always have a great time putting them together and a much greater time playing them over & over!

I love my job... telling wonderful stories like this is one of the many reasons why. Click on the photo below to see - Annabelle, seven months.

We're expanding!

Our company is now catering to our little fury friends. They've always been part of the family, and deserve a portrait on that wall too . Last weekend, I photographed Bella. She is just the sweetest! Super playful, Bella led us to a little Sunday afternoon cardio :) She showed me all her new toys and definitely showed me lots of love.

I even went home with a sweet treat myself. Thanks Miggy!

Alyka

Alyka means "the beautiful one who outshines all others." She indeed is! She was running! jumping! climbing! swinging! laughing! ...and so were we. We cannot be any happier with what we captured.

A ton of favorites from her little photo shoot & as promised, here are a few:

Alyka's first photo shoot

MPETIT FASHION.. here is a little video clip from Alyka's first photo shoot. I've never seen myself "at work" before so watching this was a bit unusual but definitely a lot of fun. Minouche & I always have the best time photographing the little ones and this was no exception.

Special thanks to Joel for hair & make up, to mommy & papa for being such great PAs, and to Patrice for doing an amazing job putting this together (original soundtrack by Patje). I know my entire family is dying to see the photos, I'll be posting them very soon!

People, people, people...

My love for photographing people led me to photographing weddings. It's all about capturing the emotions & expressions, the intensity & the heat. This photo of Alex, the dragon boat rower, will be among those featured by Stockshop at the upcoming Picturehouse in NYC. There's more where this came from: www.mariannelozano.com
